 TLDR - What to do:

Getting ready for your booking

  • Arrive before your booking starts - there is a 15 minutes countdown to activate the plate. After that,  the booking will be cancelled 
  • Bring scourer pad, sponge, cleaning solution, kitchen towel, and waste bags
  • Bring your BBQ tools such as a steel spatula, tongs, forks etc. (avoid plastics that melt).
  • Use the code provided by email to unlock the padlock and open the plate - keep the lock safe as you will need to lock it back at the end
  • Use the app to check-in and activate the BBQ - follow the check-in instructions on our user guide - open the app, navigate to your pending booking, and scan the QR code within the app
  • If the grill has an issue or is not in proper conditions, please report it during the activation phase using the form in the app
  • In case you need any help, contact us on whatsapp

Time to grill!

  • Be aware of the meaning of the button LED - check our user guide 
  • Remove food residue with your spatula from time to time while cooking
  • You can extend your booking if needed, as long as you are still within the active booking period. Otherwise, check if the next hour is available, book it, and contact us to get it unlocked faster without having to wait for the beginning of the next hour. Be aware that the app only allows to book the hour before that hour has started!

Be mindful of the next user

  • 15 minutes before the end of your booking, the plate will switch off automatically and the button will be disabled - it is checkout time!
  • Open the app and follow the instructions - also, read the checkout instructions on our user guide
  • Remove food residue scrubbing the plate with your spatula
  • Pour a little bit of water while the plate is still hot, and use your pad/sponge to clean the hotplate. 
  • Follow the steps in the app until prompted to take a picture of the cleaned BBQ. 
  • Lock again the BBQ with the combination lock, shuffling the dials. 
  • Leave the countertop clean ready for the next user. 
  • Be aware that if the hotplate is left in unusable conditions, you may be charged a £20 cleaning fee 
  • Please don't forget to leave the feedback on your experience


How to start your booking

To start your booking, please follow these steps:


  • Be in front of the booked plate at the booked time-slot
  • Activation is only possible once your booking time has started, not before.
  • Open the app and go to menu -> booking history and select the pending booking you want to activate
  • Remember that you have 15 minutes at the beginning of your booking to check-in, otherwise the booking will be canceled - contact us on whatsapp in case you need help
  • In the activation page, press 'Activate BBQ'  and scan the plate QR code to check-in
  • You should hear a loud beep, and the plate LED should turn RED - It is heating up! it will turn GREEN (cooking temperature, 230°C) in 3-5 minutes.

BBQ status

LED is OFF = Plate is OFF

Our BBQ is waiting for you!

LED is  SOLID RED = Plate is HEATING UP

It takes between 3 to 5 minutes to reach cooking temperature. Depending on the wheater conditions it might take slightly less or more time - just be patient, it is going to be fast!

LED is SOLID GREEN = Plate is ON

The plate reached the cooking temperature of 230°C! It will keep it for 30 minutes, then it will switch off automatically - but no worries, you can reactivate it using the button, if you still have time left in your booking.

LED is BLINKING RED = Plate is COOLING DOWN

The plate has switched off and is cooling down.  As it cools, it beeps twice with a decreasing frequency to indicate it is still hot but is cooling down.

LED is BLINKING RED/GREEN = Plate is in FAILURE

Hopefully, you will never see this! But in case you do, reach out to us on whatsapp, we will make our best to try to solve the situation, in a way or another!


Reactivate and deactivate the hotplate status

Be aware that the hotplates switch off automatically after 30 minutes of cooking time (green LED) - but you can reactivate them if you still have time left in your booking!


Press and hold the button until you hear one loud beep to reactivate or deactivate the plate.


In case you want to take a break during the booking, we recommend to switch off the plate, pressing and holding the button (> 6 seconds, until you hear one loud beep) - you will avoid burning food leftovers, and will help us saving some energy and extending the lifetime of the BBQ.


How to end your booking

At the end of the booking, please follow these steps:


  • Wait (it is done automatically in the last 10 minutes of the booking) for the BBQ to switch off - It will beep and the LED will start blinking red (it means that the hotplate is cooling down)
  • Remove any leftover food from the hotplate with the use of a spatula.
  • Pour a little bit of water (do not soak the plate and the sponge) on the hotplate, let it act a few seconds in contact with the hot surface
  • Use your scourer pad to remove stains from the plate.  Use the provided brush to reduce the risk of getting burned and scrub with more efficiency
  • Use some paper towel to wipe down the hotplate, including the surrounding surfaces
  • Take a picture of the clean hotplate when prompted by the App
  • Lock the BBQ with the provided padlock, and shuffle the combination

Tips & Tricks

If you feel so, give it a quick extra clean at the beginning of your booking while it heats up.


It's best to clean the plate starting a couple of minutes after it started cooling down - poor a little water or cleaning product, let it sit, and scrape off the larger residues with your spatula first. Then use your scourer pad or sponge to finish cleaning.


Using aluminium foil between the plate and your food is also an option — just keep in mind that it will reduce the heat reaching your food.


You can also use trays to cook your food on the plate. Using a lid helps trap the heat inside the tray, creating an oven-like effect.

There is a very well equipped Off Licence just outside Paradise Park, with food, cold drinks, BBQ tools and almost everything you need!


Cancelation and refund policy

Users have up to 48h hours before the booking to cancel the booking and get full refund (minus a small booking fees taken by the third party payment service).


In case of no-show, no refund will be issued.

If you missed (or are about to miss) the 15 minutes check-in countdown, reach out to us asap on WhatsApp.


In case of bad-weather, a coupon of the same amount of the booking will be issued, to give it another try on a sunnier day!
